What is a Job Description / Role Profile?
At Fit For Sport we want to make sure you understand the role you are applying for. To make this as easy as possible we have developed a set of Role Profiles (you might call these job descriptions!) to give you as much information as possible. The role profiles are broken down into four sections; Job Description, What You Will Be Doing, What We’re Looking for and Person Specification, please check out our guide to the right “Key Things To Look For On A Role Profile”. We try to write our Role Profiles in plain English and we try to avoid business jargon as much as possible.
We have listed the most popular Role Profiles below . If you would like to see a Role Profile for a role not provided here, please ask your recruiter.
Key Things to look for on a Role Profile
The Job Description on the Role Profile explains the purpose of the job. It’s important to understand the purpose of the job as it will help you to understand where the role fits in the business, the team and the role’s objectives.
It is important to gain an understanding of what you will be doing as this will help you decide if this is the right role for you in terms of your abilities, experience and personal preferences. This section is a list of most of the things you will be doing – this is not an exhaustive list and we all help out from time to time in other areas and with ad hoc tasks. If you like what you see in this section, there’s a good chance the role will be a good fit for you.
This section of the role profile describes what the company is looking for from applicants for this role. Be honest with yourself. Are you really a fun outgoing person? Do you really like getting up early to be at work for 07:00am? make sure you fit what we’re looking for as this is our way of letting you know what you’ll need to be successful in the role.
The Person Specification is the section of the Role Profile where we explain what we’re looking for – in an ideal world. If you have 75% of each section and at least one of the qualifications or similar experience (if we request it) then send us your application, we understand we are all a work in progress!
The Person Specification is broken down into four sections;
- Personal Qualities
- Skills and Abilities,
Each item within the section will have an (E) meaning it is essential you have this item, (HD) meaning it is Highly Desirable that you have this item or (D) meaning it is desirable that you have this item.
