Interview Preparation

Interview / Assessment Day Preparation

Attending interviews or assessment days is always a bit daunting and it’s only normal to be nervous. That’s why at Fit For Sport our recruiters are trained to understand this and deliver interviews and assessment days designed to get to know the best version of you! We achieve this by making our assessment days fun and engaging, including group and individual, verbal and written and practical and concept based assessments.

Our interviews are core competency based, and designed so that you can give us real life examples of how you can perform the tasks of the role you are applying for. Assessment days run between 09:00 am and 5:00 pm for our Active roles and interviews for Head Office roles tend to last around 45 minutes to one hour but are role dependant.

We insist all applicants complete our Four Steps to preparing for your Interview / Assessment Day.

Four Things You Must Do!

You will need to provide some evidence that you are entitled to work the UK. These are called eligibility Documents. These are things like your passport, proof of address, birth certificate etc. We have a number of documents you will need to bring to your assessment day or alternatives if you don’t have our first choice. Remember you must bring both the original and photocopy of each document! If you don’t bring the documents we request, we may not be able to assess / interview you!

We will need you to complete a few forms – don’t worry, they are easy to complete. You will need to download the forms, print them, complete them and bring them with you to your Interview / Assessment Day.

One of the exercises you will be asked to deliver on your assessment day will be your Practical Exercise. The Practical Exercise will enable you to demonstrate how well you can do one aspect of your role. The practical exercise must be prepared in advance of your Interview / Assessment Day.

If you can’t make it or if you are delayed you must notify us. Please call 0208 823 4990 and select option 4 for HR and Recruitment to update the team.

Eligibility documents

You will need to provide some evidence that you are entitled to work the UK. These are called eligibility documents. These are things like your passport, proof of address, birth certificate etc. We have a number of documents you’ll need to bring to your assessment day or alternatives if you don’t have our first preference. Remember you must bring both the original and photocopy of each document! If you don’t bring the documents we request, or their photocopies, we may not be able to assess / interview you!

Such forms enable us to ensure we meet our legal recruitment, induction and on boarding responsibilities as a UK company. Failure to bring the documents with you to the assessment day at the latest, means we are unable to meet these requirements and as such we will not be able to assess / recruit you.
