Fit For Sport have been delivering OFSTED registered Extended School provision and Active Camps for over 27 years. Each day brings its challenges and rewards and with so much activity variety, no two days are ever the same! Whether you work in our Extended Schools Programmes which run before, during and after the school day and/or our Active Camp Programme where you may work a straight eight hour day, each day offers the opportunity to learn new skills and develop your experience as an Active Leader.
In this section we have detailed a quick run down of what a typical day looks like in each of our departments.
A Typical Day In…
Most Active Camps run all day throughout the school holidays with the exception of Bank Holidays. Typical working hours are 08:00 am to 6:00 pm each day and most staff are booked for full weeks at a time or for the duration of the school holiday.
Our Extended School programme offers Breakfast clubs between 07:30 am and 09:00 am, lunch cover between 12:00 and 13:00, PE sessions between 09:00 and 12:00 and 13:00 and 15:30, sports clubs between 15:30 and 16:30 and extended schools between 15:30 and 18:00. Our Schools Active staff can work any combination of these shifts based on their personal preference and availability in their area.
Our Head Office staff work 40 hours over five days (with the exception of the CRT team who also work weekends on a rota). We typically work any time between 07:30am and 7:00pm although the majority of staff work 09:00am to 5:30pm.
All our new staff complete a range of new starter training. One of the first pieces of training you will complete is the Fit For Sport E-Learning course. This is a requirement of your employment and is completed each year you work with the company. You will first complete this as a new employee completing the course work on line, in your own time, but before your first day at work – Induction day! The course is made up of five easy to follow modules; Safeguarding, Common Core, Food Safety Awareness, Human Resources Induction and Policies and Procedures. Each module lasts about 30 minutes to an hour and involves reading, quizzes and watching videos. Our E-learning programme is designed to teach you the basic concepts you will need to get the most out of your induction day. It is easy to follow and takes approximately 4 hours in total to complete.
